I am from the north of Ireland and have just bound a house on a new build site. Apparently it is compulsory to have a property management company take care of site.
Anyone got any information regarding this. I find it very strange.
We have to pay a shocking amount to have small areas of grass cut. Im thinking of getting the insurance required and doing it myself..

If there are open areas of grass etc on the development then someone has to take responsibility for their maintenance. This sort of work is what the service charge will be for. You should have received full details of the site ownership and property management company when you bought the property. It may be possible to form a residents association and take over the responsibilities of this management company collectively but you will need to check the paperwork to be sure of what is possible.John0
