Invited to claim severe disability premium?

I receive PIP & ESA, I received a letter yesterday saying I may be able to claim severe disablement premium. I have read about this and don't think I'll qualify for it because I don't live alone, I live with my parent. I threw the form away and now I'm worried I'll get in trouble for not sending it back. Does anyone know what I should do?

You won't get in trouble for not claiming so please don't worry. If you think you definitely didn't qualify it was pointless claiming. You'll hear nothing further unless you change your mind and claim anyway. You might get a reminder to fill the form in but if you don't want to claim just ignore it.Master Apothecary Faranell replied, “I assure you, overseer, the Royal Apothecary Society dearly wishes to make up for the tragic misguidance which ended so many lives. We will cause you no trouble. We seek only to continue our research in peace".0

If it's not absolutely clear that there is no entitlement to SDP a letter should be sent, as it has been in your case. No need to do anything with it.0

Thank you for the replies it's helped to calm me down a bit I worry about tiny things lol. The thing that stressed me was it said send back asap. I did initially fill it out but kept making mistakes and got frustrated so threw it away. I don't want to claim it anyway so hopefully they won't ask me about it again
I already told them who I live with when I made my ESA claim and at both of my assessments so don't know why they sent it anyway. X

if your mum claims PIP or DLA at the middle care rate or higher then you may be entitled to SDP still
Just a though

You won't get in trouble for not sending the form back that's entirely your decision but it's worth applying for, the extra £60 a week or so could be really helpful for you.

So glad I just found this thread. I act for my son who receives ESA and PIP and was sent the same form. He is in the same boat as you Daisychains as he lives at home with us and I felt none of the questions were relevant to his situation. Thanks for the advice, stopped me worrying too.£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.
