Maternity allowance and stopping self employment

Hi
A quick query with regards to maternity allowance and notifying HMRC of the fact that I will not be returning to self employment, or any kind of employment after my maternity leave finishes. I am currently in receipt of maternity allowance. If I notify HMRC now that I am stopping self employment, will they notify the DWP to stop my maternity allowance, and will it affect my NI? I know if you are employed and resign from employment, you still continue to receive statutory maternity pay so I assume it would be the same in theory for SE and MA? I can not find any information on this at all. Has anyone else been in this position and could offer some advice?
Thanks

You are entitled to your 39 weeks paid MA regardless of whether you are planning on returning to work or not - so it won't be stopped.
I am unsure of how it would change NI...0 -
Thanks for that. I guess I'll have to call the NI line and see what they say about that.0

Whilst in receipt of MA you will receive NI credits.
Once you claim Child Benefit and until your youngest child is 12 years old your NI account will be credited with NI contributions.0 -
Yes, that's what I meant. So I don't really need to do anything other than notify them ofstopping self employment. Thanks for your help.0
