Help with Tripadvisor

I have a holiday let property that I would like to advertise on Tripadvisor. I am so confused of what Tripadvisor charge. The website is very unclear. I have tried phoning them but I think I got someone abroad who didn't really understand English very well. There is also a company called Holiday Lettings which is owned by Tripadvisor who also advertise on Tripadvisor, Do I have to go through Holiday Lettings or direct to Tripadvisor?

Does anyone have a holiday let property and knows how Tripadvisor works please.

  • Hi
I have my holiday home on Tripadviser.co.uk It automatically gets advertised on other sites without me doing anything else. ( Holiday lettings, Flipkey and Niumba). As well as tripadviser. com .es. fr etc.

Their commission charges are rather difficult to fathom but seem to be around 10-12 percent of the rental cost, depending on the time of year- being lower for winter lets.
    Hope that helps.
  • Hi,

TripAdvisor is free. A lot of holiday/letting companies don't even know they have a Trip Advisor page. You only have to pay for TP when you decide to take out a business listing. The business listing enables you to advertise your rates through partners like booking.com/Expedia/Agoda etc and then provides the links to those sites. Business listing cost around $100 per month, I'll be honest not worth doing if you only have minimal rooms. The only way you will get on TA is when a guest stays with you and decides to write a review on you. Then TA will create you a page and you start from there - good luck.
