Online Web Offers that do not state they have expired

How does a consumer stand if they search the web via google and find a live webpage from the actual company that gives the promotion - fulfills the permission by depositing money but is then told that the promotion is old and has expired, yet there is nothing to show anywhere on the physical webpage to say anything.

You can still find the page I'm referring to by google search Coral Virtual Horses Promotion and it's still there with no indication of start nor end date - they haven't bothered to remove it.

Basically I deposited as per the official Coral webpage and then when asking how do I get the free bet was told it is in fact an old webpage that has not been removed. (but you can't find it via the coral websites navigation but google found it very easy).
I could imagine if it was offered by a third party company on their website it could be deemed as a mistake by the third party company - but not if its actually via the Coral website.
Could you imagine if a Car Dealership did something similar and you ended up depositing ££££ towards a new car only to find that the offer had expired but it didn't explain this??

A webpage accessible from Google doesn't mean the offer is still live, there are two things here.

    1) You will probably find it says somewhere in the T&Cs they have the right to withdraw this offer at any time blah blah blah

    2) Getting to it from Google doesn't indicate the offer it still live. I would argue that by removing it from the browseable directory on the coral website they have shown to not be misleading anyone - it would be like if you took home a quote for a car from a dealership that was having a super saver weekend event that said "Super Saver Weekend Discount £-1000" then went back 6 months later and said "I want to use that discount" even though there was no sign age to state the discount was still running - the dealer isn't trying to mislead you as they took the signs down.

You are however, entitled to that money back (if you haven't spent it of course)

How do you know the page is live ??
I see one on that search page as dated 2013 .
Plenty of old stuff on google search pages .
  • Thanks for your response - cono1717 I appreciate what you are saying about a physical voucher - the retailer cannot recall them back after the event but an online outfit can very easily remove old webpages. Plus there is no T&C nor any indication of when the offer runs from & to.
    Here is the page coral.co.uk/sports/offers/virtualhorseracing

From the T&Cs for that offer:
    13. Promoter: Coral Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited, Suite 711, 1st Floor, Europort, Europort Road, Gibraltar, GX11 1AA
That is who you complain to.
