Late appeal to supermarket (2013!)

Afternoon all, as ever thanks for all your help and advice. I just wondered if anyone has experience of asking a supermarket to intervene in a parking fine some years on (or even if it is worth asking). Feb 2013 parking charge issued (on vehicle) for overstaying. Erroneously ignored. Chasing DRP letters restarted (which will be ignored - thanks for advice in stickies) but is it worth trying to appeal the original penalty now (either through Smart Parking Ltd (creditor) or supermarket). Vehicle did overstay but occupants were shopping in store and some extenuating circumstances (small child etc). Regular shopper at store although not sure whether would have evidence now from that particular date. Worth doing anything or wait to see if papers issued? Vehicle driver not a serial offender so Smart may take it no further? Thanks for advice (and if I have missed a thread on this please excuse me, spent some hours reading and trying to ensure I don't duplicate on existing thread!)

read the DRP/ROSSENDALES thread and post #4 of the NEWBIES sticky thread

    IGNORE DRP

yes, complain to the store or their CEO and head office, with proof of patronage and get the charge cancelled by them as landowners, its NEVER too late

then sign the Beavis petition on the government website, and get other voters to do the same, so we can get these practices stamped out by MP,s

You are presumably panicking due to another TEDIOUS Debt Recovery Plus letter.

Search the forum for 'landmark Debt Recovery Plus'. Silly amount of threads all the same.

But yes - COMPLAIN. It is never too late, try the Store Manager in person and Head Office and the CEO, Andy Clarke assuming this is Asda.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You never know, it's worth while contacting the supermarket CEO
As you will have read, Smart Parking are not so smart, but nobody knows what goes through the little minds of scammers ?

If you are a regular shopper and can easily prove with CC statements etc, you could hit the supermarket claiming harassment resulting from the PPC they use.
You will want them to intervene and put a stop to it if they want you and your friends to remain loyal customers

Supermarkets are having huge problems with the parking scammers and are losing customers.
Right now, you have nothing to lose, the supermarket does

Which supermarket is it, we can help by providing you with email address of the CEO
  • Many thanks all. It is Waitrose unfortunately the individual doesn't have any proof from the date (in fact they think the date quoted on the letter is incorrect as they were a hundred or miles away on that date but that's another issue!). Coupon-mad - definitely not panicking, and the stickies were read and much appreciated, more just contemplating whether to see if anything further comes from Smart or whether it is worth an attempt to have the original penalty cancelled albeit at this late stage. Will probably suggest talking to the manager in store as first port of call and then following up with letters to the CEO etc. It is true what you say Beamerguy about supermarkets loosing money - 2 hours isn't a huge amount of time if you have small children and do a big shop and stop for lunch etc. Thanks all! BTW petition was signed sometime ago and shared.

Libby, the majority of Supermarket managers do not have the authority, GO TO THE TOP ... EVERY TIME

    Waitrose Limited

    Mr Rob Collins Managing Director

    Email rob_collins@waitrose.co.uk

It really does not matter about old receipts, you need to prove you are a loyal customer which waitrose cannot afford to lose.

As Waitrose is owned by John Lewis Partnership, an email here would not go amiss

    John Lewis Plc

    Mr Andy Street Managing Director

    Email andy_street@johnlewis.co.uk

Do please let us know as we must "destroy" these parking scammers. It will be the supermarkets who do this

Claim harassment resulting from the PPC they use.
You will want them to intervene and put a stop to it if they want you and your friends to remain loyal customers

can I ask if you use Waitrose often ?

if so just try and work out how much you have spent in the last three years ...........

if you do shop much I would add the amount you have spent to your complaint ........

and tell that that that is how much the stores takings till be down

you can help the cause by doing this so please do .....
