Default dropped off but credit still poor and getting rejected

Hey,

I assumed my credit would improve and I would get accepted for applications after a default dropped off my account. The default has dropped off but I'm still struggling to get credit. I've had another look at my credit file with ClearScore.

I've got a £1700 short term debt with Vanquis from a limit of £1750. Is this probably the issue? Will my credit improve if I get this down or clear the balance? Should I expect to see an immediate improvement after clearing/reducing the balance when the file is updated?

I also have three searches within the last few months.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

You'll look quite desperate being so close to your limit. Pay is down as quickly as you can. You'll also save a fortune in interest.
