faulty ebay item - can I claim postage?

I've just received an item purchased on ebay.
It doesn't work. It was not described as faulty.

Can I claim postage costs to return it?

If I sent out an item and it was faulty i would cover the return P+P.

Was it a business or a private seller, was it auction or BIN?

Business should cover it especially if it was BIN. A bit greyer if it was an auction and even worse if it was a private seller.

I presume you have asked them already? If not be polite and see what they say.
