Non sterling transaction fee help

Hi all

Can anyone offer advice?

I used my capital one credit card to reserve accommodation in Spain for July 2016.

When looking at my credit card statement the hotel have taken 5000 euros for this booking in error (we pay on arrival).

I was charged a non sterling transaction fee of £80 for this charge. The hotel have said they'll refund the 5000 euros but will I get charged another non sterling transaction fee of £80 for the refund?

Thanks in advance

Very likely - though it probably won't be £80 as the spread will be different

You could try asking Cap1 first if they'll cancel the transaction; it isn't a fraudulent transaction but you were charged erroneously and the hotel aren't going to argue.
