No, this property has been my home for the last 2yrs but due to my becoming self employed, I put the mortgage in the name of a close family member, until such times as I could take it over myself, so I won't be moving but will have my name on the deeds.

So almost certainly committed mortgage fraud....

Most certainly NOT, whatever made you jump to that conclusion?

    Because

    a) The mortgage would have had to have been BTL or CTL. And in the case of CTL they wouldn't allow this immediately.

    b) Very very few lenders allow either of the above to happen when relatives are the occupants..

Not that it’s any of your business but I will explain:
When my daughter needed to move house sooner than planned (due to a happy accident) I took out a BTL mortgage with BM, who’s criteria at the time, allowed family members to rent. When I decided to move close by to offer child care, my son took out the same mortgage deal for me.
We could stay happily renting from each other but would rather purchase.

    How convenient.

What a complicated web you've spun...

Not at all, it’s all above board, simply family helping each other.
