Why do my company's business emails go to my personal junk mail

Hi, I have been setting up a website recently, but was wondering, why, when I wrote a message (as a test) from my company's email. Why did it go to my hotmail's junk mail?
Help. When I write to customers I don't want it to do this!

What are you wanting?
Do you want all emails sent to (for example) sales@yourcompany.co.uk to be redirected to your hotmail account joe.bloggs123@hotmail.com - this is very easy to be set up but not very professional. When you reply to a message the recipicant would receive it as "joe.bloggs123@hotmail.com"
OR
you can set up a proper pop3 email account, so all emails to sales@yourcompany.co.uk are received by a program like outlook or thunderbird, saving each message to your hard drive. You can then reply to/send new messages and they'll be received by the recipicant under sales@yourcompany.co.uk0 -
Hi, your settings on your hotmail account think it's junk mail.
Just change your settings in hotmail (top right hand) of hotmail page, and press OPTIONS.
Just change Junk mail settings filter to low or add your company email address to SAFE LIST in options menu.0 -
Hi, just change your settings by pressing OPTIONS (top right of hotmail page).
You can either change junk email settings to low, to allow your company's email address through or again in options menu press the safe email link.
Hope this helps0 -
Dont use hotmail, thats the most unprofessional way to email customers as a business, if I saw a company using a free provider I would stay well clear. Get a pop3 account setup on your domain and use outlook.Kind Regards

But surely the OP still needs to give some thought to WHY the company's emails are automatically considered 'junk' by hotmail? Not being a hotmail user, I realise it might be because that's the default for anyone not already in your Inbox, but if that's not the case then make sure that the email address it's coming from does not LOOK like junk, eg from 'sales' or 'business' or anything like that. Of course having 'test' in the subject line might also flag it as junk.
I hope I'm making sense because I'm only an accidental techie! :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Yeh maybe, so my email for business is sales@blahblahetc.co.uk
I have outlook, but when i send a test to my personal hotmail, it goes to junk and is from "Sales"...how do I change it to be from "my company's name" instead of from "Sales"0 -
I think - and as I don't have outlook on this machine at home I can't verify this - that you want to go into Tools, Accounts, Change Accounts - something like that anyway. And there you can change the name that is displayed on your outgoing emails. So you need to make sure that your 'display name' isn't Sales but Blah Blah Etc Company.
You may also want to consider changing your email address from sales@ to something less junky, but honestly I can't think what that might be. enquiries might be better ...
But you may just have to live with the fact that some email systems will default to labelling your emails as 'junk', depending on what settings people have used.Signature removed for peace of mind0
