Habitual Residency Test

Hi All,
Quick question - my father has returned to the UK and is searching for work. He's applied for JSA (don't worry I'm telling him to get a job asap - the JSA wont even cover what he owes me a month in rent!)
As part of his application he's required to do a HRT, however for what purpose would they need my details? Aside from living in my property (as a lodger in essence) we have no connections.
I'll be investigating, but someone might have an answer which eludes me at the minute

they need to know that he is resident in the UK as he will not be able to claim income based jobseekers until he has been back in the UK for 3 months
The more connections he has with the UK, place to live, bank account etc may put him in a better position of passing the HRT

The claim process can be confusing. I suspect he has been asked if anybody lives with him and he has answered 'Yes'. That would lead to questions about you. The reality, if he is a lodger, is that he lives with you, not the other way round.
If you are claiming benefits you would need to declare the rent he is being charged.0
