Vent/Rant - Amazon Logistics

Ok, I'm sure there are already a million rants about Amazon Logistics but here is mine to add to the list.
I have Amazon Prime and placed an order on Saturday. Peeved to find that the usual next day delivery was not available (had Sunday prime deliveries before) but didn't mind too much waiting until today to receive my goods since postage is free. Amazon, for reasons best known to themselves, shipped my 4 items in 3 separate packages. 2 of those packages went though my letterbox no problem but the third was too big as it contained a pair of relatively expensive earphones as well as a dvd.
Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances I wasn't in all day but every other courier whose ever delivered to us has either left the parcel with a neighbour (we have several older non-working neighbours who are happy to take parcels) or returned it for redelivery. Not so the Amazon Logistics courier! He left a note through the door saying the parcel was by the back door, which would be fine if there were any access to the back of our property but there isn't without first breaking through our solid back gate. What he means is he's left the parcel by the back gate, which is basically out on the street, and of course it's gone missing. That's if he really left it there at all...
To make matters worse he outright lied on the tracking information, claiming he had delivered it to me personally! Customer services were very slow to believe me when I explained this was a lie and that I didn't have the goods until I sent them a picture of the card the courier left. They eventually grudgingly agreed to reship the dvd and refund the earphones.
This isn't the first time Amazon Logistics have lost parcels or left them in inappropriate places only for them to go missing (I'm not 100% convinced they're ever left in the first place but then I am deeply cynical and suspicious). The idiot courier's other favourite method of delivery is to chuck parcels over the back wall, where they land either on concrete and break (if we're lucky) or in the spot where the dog likes to do her business. A couple of times he's managed to hit a very unpleasant target I hadn't had a chance to clean up
Generally I like Amazon and Prime - I like the TV service and it's nice to get quick delivery of things which fit through my door but I wish wish wish they would give you the option not to use Amazon Logistics for more valuable parcels. Our postie might be unreliable and forget to leave those little red cards in favour of scrawling parcel locations on the back of envelopes but at least he never stoops to the level of idiocy exhibited by the AL courier.
Ok, rant over. Still severely peed off though! Now I just have to decide whether to risk reordering my earphones through Prime or buy them from a marketplace seller whose low cost shipping time is over a week. So much for a nice present to myself for going back to work tomorrow.
