Benefit paid early!

Hi, my carers allowance has been paid today 31/12, when it was due on Monday 4/1. Assumed it would go in as normal as not a bank holiday! My husbands ESA hasn't gone in though, so assume that will go in on Monday as planned. Does this sound right? I'm wondering whether carers as been paid slightly early as we haven't had a payment this week but two last week. Very confused why one benefit has been paid early but other hasn't?

It is a bank holiday in Scotland on 4th.
Some banks just pay earlier at this time of year. Just don't spend it until next week.0 -
Why has one benefit been paid early and not the other one? If they were due on same day shouldn't it go in on same day? Payments seem to be over the place this year!0

My mum's State Pension was paid in today but not her Pension Credit. Both were due on Monday 4th. (She is in England.) There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it.0

My ESA was paid today as was my husbands Carers Allowance, My ESA was due tomorrow so expected that today, Hubbys Carers Allowance wasn't due till Monday so didn't expect that one

Does it matter why? You can't change it now.0

The same thing happened to me: State Pension and Pension Credit are due on Monday, but SP did hit my account earlier today and PC did not.
I presumed it was the bank who had allocated the payment too early, but it might have been the DWP who has made the error.0 -

Christmas and New Year payments
Your usual payment date may change if you receive any benefit, apart from Child Benefit or tax credits.
Benefit payments due:
between 23 and 28 December will be paid on 23 December 2015
on 31 December 2015 or 1 January 2016 will be paid on 31 December 2015
on 4 January 2016 in Scotland will be paid on 31 December 2015
If you’ve not received your payment, contact the office that pays your benefit on the day it was due.
If you are in England, and due 4/1 then you will be paid by on Monday as normal.
