Working during a breakdown - or claiming?

Hello

Due to a lot of issues and a long serving mental health problem resurfacing I am going through a breakdown, I have been diagnosed as depressed, I am getting support from the mental health team, am on antidepressants and its all getting worse.

I am struggling to make myself leave the house and I have several other issues.

My boss has been supportive and is letting me work from home, but I am finding it so hard to concentrate and the work load is piling up. I cannot keep up. Now my boss has offered to let me go part time until I am well. But I live alone and am totally dependent on myself for income. Could I claim benefits until I was well again? If so what sort of benefit? How would I go about doing this?

Thank you
