Insurance for Families with children over 18

I have never taken my family abroad for a holiday, but after years of money saving, I can now just about afford it. However, one of my four children is 18 years old which seems to stop most insurance websites allowing me to purchase family insurance from them. What are the best options for family holiday insurance when one of your kids turns 18?
I understand that if the 18 year old has their own policy, and say, gets taken ill and hospitalized, then the rest of the family cannot change their plans to look after them and the 18 year old faces the prospect of having to stay in a foreign country, ill, on their own! Not ideal!

As they're an adult make them sort out their own policy.

Did you read the second paragraph? OP wants everyone on the same policy to ensure they are covered as a group.

I have annual insurance with my bank account. That covers "kids" until they leave full time education.

  • I think that instead of looking at a family policy you might have more luck with a group policy.

Most policies cover this. Mine covers problems with immediate family & travelling companions, so they're covered twice!
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Many/most family policies cover 18 year olds as long as they're still in full time education. Some cover them up to around 23 or so while still in education eg at university.
