Has Anyone Managed to Get Rid of Spyhunter

I stupidly downloaded Spyhunter to get rid of another program and now I am stuck with it.
I have tried to uninstall it in Windows 7 Control Panel
I have used Revo Uninstaller
I have done a 'regedit' and removed any files relating to Spyhunter.
And still it comes back - doing its scan and telling you to pay $29 to get rid of a myriad of things in the Registry I am sure I haven't got.
Can anyone give advice on how to get rid of this permanently.
There's nothing showing in the Registry so don't know how it gets back in but every time I switch the computer on its there doing another scan.

don't accept the free trial for malwarebytes ......
oh and have a read at this http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/550005/spyhunter-vs-malwarebytes-vs-iobit/#entry3491488🍺 😎 Still grumpy, and No, Cloudflare I am NOT a robot 🤖BUT my responses are now out of my control they are posted via ChatGPT or the latest AI0 -
Thanks for the reply debitcardmayhem. I have tried Malwarebytes already but it turns off my McAfee real time scanning so have to delete it immediately, however it didn't get rid of Spyhunter. Just used the Adware Cleaner and it seemed to get rid of a lot of junk but the blasted Spyhunter has returned again. Its seems impossible to get rid of it I seem to have tried everything0

Thanks bsod - I have tried all the 'uninstall' methods listed but I had forgotten about 'system restore' - I will try it tomorrow.
PLEASE Everyone - don't ever download Spyhunter - it should be banned.0 -
Try this.
Look under "C:\Documents and settings\"Your user name"\Local Settings\temp" and see if you have the file "SHSetup.exe".
If so delete it, then go to Control Panel and uninstall SpyHunter.0 -
It also "piggybacks" on MB downloads, as I found out to my cost, and in my case embeds Yahoo on FF Add-ons.0

No SHSetup.exe doesn't appear anywhere.
If anyone is thinking of paying the price and signing up with McAfee Security - don't bother. If you are having problems with this sort of stuff getting in they will not help unless you pay another large amount.
Also if you download any extra programs like Malware Bytes and Adware Cleaners then your McAfee goes haywire and you have to spend lots of time getting it working properly again.
I am not going to renew my subscriptions next year.0 -
buy a backup drive instead, with free antivirus and backup software
if you can't clean it up, you could re-install windows 7 and start afresh
are you sure you are actually downloading malwarebytes and not something else, how does it go haywire, and what happens when you did an uninstall or system restoreDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -
That's a good idea, including getting rid of McAcrappy, I also gave links on post #2 for the tools🍺 😎 Still grumpy, and No, Cloudflare I am NOT a robot 🤖BUT my responses are now out of my control they are posted via ChatGPT or the latest AI0
