  • I think that's from 2018.

Looking at what benefits my partner will get, it's surprising anyone would work in that situation. I'll talk to her and see about paying the repayment on the mortgage until we sell and won't have enough to pay her maintenance after that. She'll still have a large amount of disposable income with income support, tax credits and child benefit.

what do you call a large amount?

she will get £74 a week income support, child benefit of £33 plus tax credits.

out of that she will have to pay all bills plus feed and clothe herself and 2 toddlers.

anything left after that is disposable income.
can't see it being that much

    The tax credits are £128

Well I know for one child it's £64 so I assume it doubles for a pair.

    it doesn't double.
there is a family element that is paid once, regardless of how many kids you have.

i think its nearer £140 including child benefit.
so a total income of around £215 a week.

can see it being fairly easy to manage .... but don't se a high disposable income
  • Well, it's more than I have at the moment. I'd be happy to give more but paying the rest of the repayment on the mortgage will hamper that.
