One of our potential buyers asked whether we had a 'compass' she could borrow as she needed to determine the position of 'every' room.

No, just a matter of providing the right enviroment for her plants. Well that's what she maintained :)

When viewing one the parents were out & the daughter (uni age) showed me around. Was tempted to ask "are you included with the house?" but her bf cropped up in the conversation before =/

When we viewed a house once the owner showed us around. I was making polite conversation and said " so where are you moving to ?" She replied " oh no I,m not moving I m staying right here " :rotfl:

I hasten to add as she was showing us around her wig had slipped !!!
  • I did view a property to rent as work premises and was told to stand in a spot in one room and see if I could feel a tingling sensation....apparently a ley line ran though the building at this point! :D I did not end up renting that one.

I brought a list of questions downloaded from the internet to ask when I first viewed my flat, and one of them was whether anyone had been murdered at the property. Well, it was on my list so I asked. I don't think the estate agent was expecting that one! He never did give an answer either... Hmm...

Some friends live opposite a house in which there was a murder many years ago. It was widely reported locally and has made the house difficult to sell ever since.

"Please provide evidence that there is no conservatory."

That was a bit mind boggling.

That was not so mind boggling as my solicitor got asked same question from buyer's solicitor.

The reason being me withdrawing conservatory planning application. I applied for it to council and then decided to sell the house so withdrew application before it was processed. It still showed up in buyer's searches so their solicitor wanted confirmation whether it was actually built or not (mind that the solicitor has never visited the property and only relying on information received from various sources).
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.
  • I got asked if we were taking the laminate floor with us?! Just in case we move into a house with identical dimensions perhaps.

What do you do for the toilet as you don't have a downstairs toilet? I replied I walk upstairs.

Is the kettle included in the price? It was a normal plastic kettle!

Can you cut the grass before you leave? I had no grass, everything was paved.

I think I would have been so tempted to say "....and what do you do for a job?" at that point. I don't think they would have realised that translated into "Does someone actually pay good money to employ you?":rotfl:
