Accessing monies repaid from Barclaycard without the card?

Odd question I know, but wondered if anyone can help?
I've received a letter this morning from Barclaycard, in response to my claim, saying that without admitting liability blah blah blah, they are going to credit my account with half of my claim, which I am happy to accept.
However, although I still get monthly statements, I no longer have the credit card, it was cut up long ago to stop me spending, is there anyway I can access the money in a branch? Can I take my statement along with passport/driving licence & ask for statement & withdrawl if the money is there?
ANy ideas anyone??

I'm not sure if you can go into a branch because they will probably say that the credit card dept in separate to banking etc. I would phone up and ask for a new card, withdraw money and do it that way, but you will probably get charged a £2 cash handling fee?0

Alot of people are asking them to repay via cheque, especially if the refund takes your credit card account into credit.0
