Identity Fraud and Credit File Advice

Good Evening,
Some welcome advice needed...
In June this year I was unfortunately subjected to identity theft (boy did those guys have a field day), I reported and contacted several (reassuring I had such good credit they could go mental) companies to report said crime. I was informed by all it would be investigated and not too worry as my search/account would be removed from file.
Just recently I applied for a new CC to transfer my balance and was declined
Onto my credit report and it turns out I still have one of the fraudulent personal loans on my file of which my counter part has defaulted on for the last 5 months!! No wonder The CC company turned their nose up at me.
My question is after yelling angrily down the phone at the loan company who failed to remove this can I ask CC company to remove the search? I know it only shows as a search and they probably won't be interested, I just wondered if I had any standing considering the situation?
I know ideally I should of checked my file before application but hey ho I'm the trusting type and expected it to have been dealt with...
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Yelling at them will not change anything. Write to them, remind them that this was a case of ID theft (Assuming that they have been previously informed) and warn them that you will be taking formal action against them if they do not correct matters.0

This can be quite a tricky situation. MEM62 is right, you should write to the company and detail the issue from the start (don't assume that the person you originally spoke to has made the appropriate notes if nothing has happened as you expected it to). They may ask you for your crime reference number and/or your action fraud reference number (so make sure you include that from the start as well).
Normally the creditor will then launch their own fraud investigation. If they agree that it is an issue of fraud then they should remove any adverse information on your credit file. If they don't believe it to be a case of fraud they may hold you liable. You can (at that point) escalate the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. I hope that helps.
