Haircuts by Trainee Hairdressers

Has anyone had any experience of this? A college local to me is giving free haircuts by students who are on hairdressing courses which i'm considering as I've needed a haircut for a while and have been keeping an eye out for cheap offers without much luck. I'm curious about anyone's experiences and the result of haircuts by a trainee as I'm a bit unsure as to whether to go for it or not!

I've had my hair cut twice now at my local college. No problem at all. Great cut for a fraction of the normal price. They do take a lot longer than normal because the tutor keeps coming to check at each stage. I would say go for it.

I go all the time, & yes you do sometimes lose the will to live as it can take sooooo long. However, they do cut it well, & you feel looked after as you get checked regular by someone else. I love it when they mention the corners too Plus they're young & you get the latest styles, I sometimes find if you have an older dresser you can end up with the same style as them :eek:

I haven't been to a college, but I had a trainee hairdresser in a salon. The haircut was ok, but yes it does take a long time!

Thanks all, I'll go next week and hopefully will be pleased with the results- I didn't think about the fact that the tutors would keep an eye on them and check at the end so that they won't be able to anything too disastrous!
