Wrong price

I found a product I wanted in the Argos book for £5.99. When I went to get it I was told it was £14.99. When I queried this I was told that they could do it as they had told me it was advertised wrongly before money wax exchanged. Can they do this or should I have it at the advertised price?

    Hello Hibjibbird

    Welcome to the MSE Forum.

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

I’ve moved your thread from the ‘I wanna’ board to the ‘Consumer Rights’ board, where it is better suited.

They do not have to sell the thing to you at the advertised price.

You made them an offer to buy it at £5.99 and they have declined your offer.

    Perfectly acceptable legally.
