See this is where part of the problem stems from. Not ONCE has anyone on this forum given any sort of credit to the M3. Yes, it may be suited to most people's needs here but in its own regard it is quite a good car. Everyone here just seems to discredit it either by talking about how "unreliable" it is, how expensive it is, how badly it is engineered, it's build quality and the type of people who drive these machines. Why is this? Is it because the majority of people cannot afford to buy an M3 and have a grudge. Or is it because the M3 is really that bad of a car?

Its because you personally have discredited the car by saying you own one when you dont and gushing about how great it is.

And then of course one of your alter egos criticised the build quality of BMWs, and this has been picked up on and repeated back to you.

The M3 is a great car, however i dont cry into my cornflakes because i havent chosen to own one. And being honest, 99.9% of people on here dont see the benefit of the performance being worth the hassle.

So yes, you personally have made the M3 a ridiculed car on here.

Start a thread about it and see if you have a valid arguement for owning one.

Its not like he actually owns one, so i dont really understand why hes concerned that other people dont own one either.

but im pretty sick of reading threads where other long standing members derail threads going on about 'darkmatter' as if it actually matters, and as if anybody actually cares, full of self importance much?

And we're all pretty sick of helping new posters who then turn out to be yet another DM incarnation, and then the thread derails into why an M3 is a great car and how crap DM thinks all our lives are because we dont own one.

Once you've been on here more than a month, you'll see how distracting it can be from helping people with genuine queries and participating in genuinely interesting threads.

We maybe just need a better organized way of flagging him without feeding the nonsense? It's only when we reply to him does it get ridiculous, so can't we just post "I think this is DM101" and then leave it for him to get bored?

I think his appearance and everyones overreactions have totally ruined this board.
  • has the M3 got rear brakes , my mate says they only have brakes on the front wheels

    It is.

Although a lot of M3 owners fit the rear brakes from the Yaris which are a straight swap. This has resulted in a lot of Yaris's having their rear brakes stolen. Many Yaris owners never notice.

It's a good car, however what you need to understand is putting the M engine in comes with a compromise. So what are the real benefits of sacrificing reliability when a diesel or can do double the national speed limit?

Start a thread about it and see if you have a valid arguement for owning one.

I haven' actually heard of any failures of the BMW S65 V8 engine. I'd say its a lot more reliable than a lot of diesels out there with their potential failure of DPFs, turbos, injectors and flywheels. Only bad point of the S65 is fuel economy and high servicing costs.

Like I said have a bit of etiquette and start a thread.
