SIXT van rental insurance

Hi,

We recently rented a SIXT van for a house move. During the move another van clipped me and took off the wing mirror.

At the time of rental we paid for the cheaper excess (£75), and at the time of returning the van they specifically said "oh you got insurance and paid for cheaper excess? You'll only have to pay £75 plus admin fees". But a bill for a the full cost of repairs has just come through, over £800.

Does anyone have any experience of this or any similar problems? I'm hoping they just haven't registered that the reduced excess was purchased.

    Phone up and tell them.
  • That's the first job today. I was just hoping someone else might have experience - I always worry with the small print of these companies that their 'general insurance' actually might sneakily not cover you for most of the basics.

Also the other drive took off before any details could be exchanged which made the paperwork trickier than I'd hoped.
