Grrr... I'm so mad. I took out Jet2 insurance for my holiday this year. Now usually I only insure for health and accident etc., but since my daughter broke her camera last year, I decided to take out their gadget insurance too. At the same time I took out an extra policy for no excess.
Long story, but whilst away my son and I both were involved in an incident whereby our cameras were broken. He's only 13 and saved for literally years to buy this particular one so of course I went to claim.
They charged me £50 excess per gadget saying that the no extra policy does not refer to gadgets. Not at any point did it say this when I signed up online. Surely they should note on Jet2 insurance site that the excess does not appy to gadgets!? I'd not have bought the excess had I known, but knew chances of accident with phones and cameras being around water, would be high.... I've never claimed on insurance before and this has made me quite mad. Oh and don't get me started about how they tried to get out of the initial claim!

Did you look at the policy document (the document that tells you what you're covered for)? Pretty clear in there that the excess waiver does not apply to gadget cover.0

If you believe that the insurance that they sold you was mis-described at the point of sale, raise it as a formal complaint with the insurer. If no joy, the complaint can then be raised with the Ombudsman.0
