And NO- we are not visiting the red light district!

not visiting the RLD ? you gotta even if not taking advantage of the delights its a great place to people watch

a trip to the Amsterdam Arena is worth visit if your have any interest in football

There is nothing, but nothing free or cheap in Amsterdam.


Visit the RLD, its no big deal, just walk up one side, down the other.


Take lots of money, its very, very expensive..


As for the transport, buy a Strippenkart from the Tabacs, this is a strip of tram tickets which the driver will stamp when you get on the tram. It is half the price of paying cash when you get on

Hire bicycles for a day or at least an afternoon - great fun in this cycling city.

The Strippenkart is a thing of the past - the replacement is a smartcard, the OV-chipkaarte.

Loads to do in the 'Dam.

Its a few years since I was last there but the diamond factory visit was free. If you want to escape the main city there's a free ferry from the rear of the station.
