IF you get your hb paid directly to your landlord can you change it and ask the council to pay it directly to you?

It depends on the reason it's being paid to your landlord. If you can give a bit more info, we may be able to help more but for example, if it's paid to them because you were 8 weeks or more in arrears, then no.
If it was because the claimant was vulnerable, it would depend on the individual circs

Usually HB is paid directly to the tenant if in private housing and directly to the HA if in social housing.

If you are in private housing then there must have been a reason why it is paid directly to the landlord. So what is the reason?
