unable to contact online retailer for returns

I purchased a tent from leisure depot in january. To pay i used my paypal account with the funds going straight from my bank account, not funds stored on paypal. We have used the tent twice this summer and it has fault which has resulted in it ripping (not through user error). I have attempted to contact leisure depot but their phone number rings out and the website no longer loads. I can only assume they no longer exist. What can i do?

If they no longer exist aka gone into administration you would now be a creditor of the company and would get back barely any money (if indeed you are entitled, as over 6 months from purchase is not clear cut that you would get a refund)
You need to find out if they have rebranded or no longer exist.0 -
Thanks. After a bit of digging It turns out they have gone into administration. This was under a different over aching distribution company name. I'm going to try the charge back system. Wish I'd used a credit card!!!0

You can try, it can be tricky using paypal as technically your bank paid paypal, and then paypal paid them. Chargeback could leave your paypal account in negative amounts...0

Even if chargeback works, you'll be doing a chargeback against your own paypal account.
Meaning paypal will start chasing you for the money via debt collectors (there have been a few threads on here of exactly that happening to people after attempting a chargeback). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
You are out of time for a chargeback. Chargeback has a time limit of 120 days from purchase - around four months.leannesterry wrote: »I'm going to try the charge back system. Wish I'd used a credit card!!!
How much was the tent? If it was under £100 then using a credit card would not have helped.0 -
Look into getting it repaired.0

There is an 01923 phone number and an 0208 one on their Amazon seller page. Have you tried both those?leannesterry wrote: »I purchased a tent from leisure depot in january. Contact the manufacturer if it's a known branded model, there may some a manufacturer's warranty. However I'd imagine that many such items, if low budget, are now Chinese made and badged up for retailers worldwide, if so forget it.No free lunch, and no free laptop
