LAX travel delays?

Hi
I'm due to travel to LAX in a couple of months. I've just booked a hire car and on the confirmation there is a note saying that travel time to and from the rental centre could take an extra 30 mins each way due to roadworks expected to last until Feb 2016!
Has anyone experienced this yet? Just trying to find out if the delay estimates are accurate or if the delay is not as long (or worryingly if it is longer).
Thanks!

you can check on google maps.
just input lax and the location of the car hire pick up place and it will tell you how long it will take to get there, and back, and will take account of current delays.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
We were there about a month ago, did wait longer than normal but wouldn't have said it was half an hour.0

Given all the other possibilities for delay I wouldn't be worrying too much about a possible extra half hour at that point in the journey.0

My abiding memory of LA is traffic everywhere. If you're driving anywhere, leave plenty of time!0

We flew in and out of LAX two weeks ago, traffic is always bad around the airport, we always add on an hour to the GPS advice! Getting the shuttle bus from the car rental place back to the airport is always the longer of the 2 journeys, so allow plenty of time. Imigration and passport control are also a long painful queue, so allow for that too on arrival, although if you've travelled before on the same passport and you are on an ESTA then you can use the new self serve terminals which saved us an hour in the queue!0
