Credit card direct debit with Lloyds Banking Group

I have a credit card with one of the brands of Lloyds Banking Group.
The direct debit just says 'Lloyds Bank plc - card services'.
I think on the direct debit name, it should say the brand name of the card held (i.e. Halifax, BOS, Lloyds Bank, TSB), so it will be clearer (especially for people who have more than one card within that group). E,g, - Lloyds Bank - card services.
Why is this?

I agree with you, except TSB is nothing to do with them these days.
Rubbish IT would be the most likely reason.0 -
OP, which brand is it that you have? If it's Lloyds then do you know that the other brands use the same description?0
-
Always check the card number before sending a payment to Lloyds or anybody else.0

Is this on the DD mandate or on your bank statement that you are seeing this?
the Halifax have the statement entry as 'Halifax' followed by the card number and Lloyds normally enter the name of the credit card 'Avios' etc in my experience.
Is there no other information on the statement entry for you to see which card has been paid by DD?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. I'm seeing this on the direct debit on the DD section of my online banking. First payment not paid as it's new, so not sure what it appears on the statement.0 -

The DD section of online banking is more of an overview.
I would have a look when the first payment leaves, what exactly shows on your statement. Hopefully it will display the brand 'Halifax' with the long card number too.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Not be be pedantic but...
Halifax isn't even a brand of Lloyds Bank plc; it's a brand of Bank of Scotland plc as it's using it's banking licence.
They are all using a Lloyds Sort Code (77-29-00) which is repaying one bank by crediting the funds at another (in the case of Halifax / BOS)0 -
Mine says Halifax and the long card number, so it may fix itself when payment is taken.0

My Lloyds, Halifax and BOS cards are named correctly on their direct debits.
However, all three cards are operated by the same people in practice. I tested this recently when my wife's 0% balance transfer periods on all three banks' cards ended and we wanted to close the accounts. She wrote a single letter to the same address which resulted in all three accounts being closed. They also sent the same identical letter out 3 times confirming closure (unfortunately not in the same envelope, but I guess these things are automated )1
