Strange IFA request

Hello. My wife and I are in the process of completing a mortgage application. Our IFA has been and taken all the details he would, at the time he asked us to acquire and forward on to him our CRs from experian and equifax - this was in June.
Now just before ( we believe) our mortgage lender, Halifax, is about to complete, our IFA has asked us to again supply new copies of our credit reports.
Does anyone of the MSE IFAs forumites think that is bizarre or odd request?
Surely if Halifax wanted our credit reports, they would go directly to the credit ref. agencies?
Is our IFA trying to pull some sort of scam?
Regards,
Concerned.

Most likley he's trying to help you by ensuring that your application will go through smoothly.
Since a CR report onlyc osts £2 (or can be free or you can even get paid for obtaining it!) what is the problem?0 -
I imagine your IFA wants to do a final check of your up-to-date credit reports - to make sure nothing adverse has appeared since June.
If something has appeared, your IFA could then be one step ahead of Halifax in helping you to get it sorted, and/or be in a better position to explain to Halifax what happened.0 -
Sounds like your adviser is being sensible and thorough, if anything, and wants to re-check your data prior to offer being approved. It's highly unlikely to be for Halifax's perusal.0
