Personal Guarantee on sold limited company

Dear Sirs,

I was owner and a director of a company which i sold on 25/3/2009. During the sale process i informed Lloyds tsb and requested to remove my name as guarantor and change to new owner. We been to rickmansworth branch few times and i made numerous calls to lloyds calls centre in that issue. Although it has been confirmed on the phone that my name removed as guarantor , they fail to send me any written confirmation. At some stage they refuse to answer my question about that issue as i was no longer signature or have control of the account. Through out the years i have been contacted with 2 different debt collector which i sent response to them and they stop chasing me . But recenly i have been letters and calls from third agency and they are saying that lloys still claiming myself been the guarantor and when i asked them when they start to chase the debt, response was november 2009 which was 8 months after the sale of business.
I would like to find out if anyone can assist

  • Have you made a complaint to LLoyds TSB?

That is where I would start. The agency are only collecting on TSBs instructions.

It's unlikely that Lloyds would agree to remove you as a guarantor unless the loan was repaid in full.
    Why would they?

Can't believe Lloyds agreed to remove the PG if the loan wasn't repaid.

Selling the LTD doesn't remove the PG liability. It's crazy to think it possibly could.
  • Did the new owners open a new bank account?
If not then OP you are probably still liable for any debt.
