At the age of 36, I was diagnosed with MS. Very bad news being a master builder. Determined to stay in construction I took building related courses quantity surveying and CAD at the very least I would still be able to continue working in the construction industry albeit from a screen. Although restricted mobility wise I am able to draw plans from home. I am now 5 years post stroke and have requested to get some physiotherapy through my GP suggested by both the MS society and the stroke association but have been refused. Because eventually I knew that some form of disability would happen, (there is no MS cure). We made sure our mortgage was paid off also saving. However, our savings had to be used making adaptations to our home after being refused a grant. My question is am allowed to offer my services as a CAD technician to raise the finance for the sole purposes of getting help without it affecting my DLA as ‘not for profit’ which appears to be our only way
i’ve been building renovating and repairing them all my working life now I draw them focusing on disabled accessible who better than a builder in a wheelchair. 2 projects in particular I have completed are a fully accessible 3 bedroom holiday home/lodge for family and or carers and a completely refurbished period terrace with a ground floor fully disabled accessible. I will give copies of these free

Err - no.
DLA is not affected at all by income - nor is PIP.
You can have any amount of capital or income and still be entitled.
The only reason income might be relevant is if your reason for getting PIP is contradicted by your employment.
For example, if you have said you have no legs, and the job requires an octopus.0 -
what reason has your GP given for refusing physiotherapy for you ?
could your MS consultant refer you for Physio ?0
