Accepted for new credit card, but didn't get 0% BT deal I applied for in application.

Hi All,
**Before I start, I will note that I already have an existing Virgin Credit Card (had it for about 5 years) with some 0% balance on it, so perhaps this is the cause??**
I recently got accepted for a Virgin Credit Card that I applied for, specifically for the 0% balance transfer offered. It was one of those applications which asks you what you want to balance transfer during the application process. Went for this card as it came out as my best chance of approval on the eligibility checker. And although I was already an existing Virgin customer, I wasn't going to be transferring anything from that card, so didn't think anything of it.
As I was accepted, and knew how much had been balance transferred, I didn't think much of it for the past month. Went to check my statement this morning so I could check how much the first payment for the card would be, to include it in my budget for August....and to my surprise, there doesn’t appear to be any 0% timescale on the balance of my card! Paying standard rate of interest already. Obviously a bit miffed as I've now been charged a balance transfer fee for no real reason...I'd have happily left the debt on my Post Office card if I knew I wasn't getting the 0% deal.
Do I have any leg to stand on here with questioning this? It's well over the 14 days where you can usually be within your right to reject the card....and I understand the card provider has no obligation to offer the terms that you're applying for....but I feel a bit cheated that I clearly applied for something with the 0% BT offer in mind, making it clear on the application I would be making use of this, and they've gone ahead and processed the application, AND completed the balance transfer, without informing me I wasn't being offered the 0% deal.
Half tempted to transfer the balance back and close the new card, but obviously that incurs a further balance transfer fee. Only really worthwhile if Post Office will offer me a 0% deal on my existing card. Might ring them....

Surely you will have received some notification as to whether or not the balance transfer was completed and for how much and at what rate? When receiving your card I would expect to find amongst the terms and conditions what, if any, special balance transfer rates you would receive.
Is this your first statement and have you missed any payments?
If however, you've just taken it as read that you're going to get a special rate and not familiarised yourself with the t & c, then I'm afraid you're out of luck.0
