House husband vs dole

Hi all,
Short version of my story.
Ex military, hard working until I fell ill 5 years ago, in between disabled and not able to work,,,, have tried but can claim no benefits, just recovered from my latest bout of ptsd after high medication and therapy to be refused any help from govt.
Cannot get a job (I think due to my mental issues) as nobody wants to employ me. Partner earns £120 p/w and is hassling me to get a job.
I have been on jobcentre work courses, cv building interview advice, etc, I am currently applying for 5 jobs on avg per week and am tweaking my CV for each one if needed, I have had a total of 2 interviews in 12 months!
Have been unemployed for 12 months (all life savings used) 4 kids, partner gets child tax credits but refuses to allow me access to funds to pay bills or makes me feel proper bad because I haven't any income.
At this point, some of you would have turned off, but for those still here, I have now applied for joint JSA £11.90 per week! reduced council tax (kind of) housing benefit (maybe)
I am 39 with little or no prospects and a head full of dead bodies every night.
So, if I take the house husband route, would I be better off or should I take a long walk off a short pier!

Hi, Im glad you have came on here for advice, Im sorry to hear the predicament your in! Could you partner not go full time and you stay at home with the children? If you PTSD is a problem with the children - are you getting support? Maybe counselling will be helpful. There is a solution to every problem!0 -

Will you be affected by the benefit cap?0

Crikey - I am so sorry that you are getting so little support with the PTSD and the effect it is obviously having on your job search. I dont know much about PTSD or benefits but would it not count as the sort of illness or disability which would allow you to receive ESA or something? Hopefully someone in the know can advise. Please do not despair and think of that short pier as you will be another casualty of war then."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Are you in touch with Combat Stress? I have a friend in a similar position and they have been very helpful, including offering respite when he needs a break from life.
Do you want to stay with your partner? Sorry to be blunt, but if it was the other way round people would be suggesting abuse - the harm doesn't have to be physical.
I'd say your first step is to speak to one of the charities. They can help you with everything - the PTSD, the family issues and the finances.0 -
How many hrs does you partner work? Unsure where you get the amount for joint jsa as £11.90 a week, its £115. So as your partner earns more than than this I would imagine there's no entitlement.
However if they work more than 24 hrs you can claim working tax credits.
Have you applied for pip?0 -
