Acceptance Letter moved to Legal Department

HI guys, first post here, but i am a regular viewer of e-mail and site.

I need your help and expertise. After filing a claim with HSBC, for total reclaim charges of £1500 ( that's including interest ) I got a letter back, saying the usual speel, but they were prepared to offer me just over £1k.

I signed the letter, and wrote without prejudice, just under the text of the letter ( don't ask why )

14 days past and i had not received my money, so i called up and was told, that it was 14 working days.

14 working days past and i call up to be told that they recieved the letter on the 6th July, but did not process the claim until the 18th July.

14 working days after the 18th, i call up saying i still got no money, and am told that the letter, was sent to the legal department on the 18th July, because i tampered with a legal document, and now that the law case has been brought up by the OFT, she didn't know whether it would get processes or not. I said, that my claim and the banks offer letter, where well before the legal case, so i should not fall into the bracket.

Apparently the legal team should have already contacted me, but they haven't, and i cannot speak to them.

So i am at an impass, and don't know what to do now. Am i entitled to call the baliff's in, or should i write a letter to the legal department.

My main fear, is they say my acceptance is null and void, and ask me to re-submit it, which would leave me without any money for over a year.

sorry for the long first post,

Any help greatly appreciated

Dom :money:

Dont re-sumit, there just trying to find any reason not to pay you,
sent them a letter saying your going to send the baliffs in, it may not work
but its worth a go i guess

I Suppose what i really need to know, is legally, was i in the wrong for writing that on the acceptance letter, or are they playing on my lack of knowledge in this area. ?

Also the last 2 months, they have charged my £75 in fees, and this month charged me £25 when i went over my overdraft for 3 hours. i do feel they are trying to get it all back before they have even paid me.
