Business FB linking to personal FB

Fortunately I have spotted this now rather than later, when I tried to link my business page to another business in the area, and found that somehow my business and personal FB pages are combined.
Obviously I want to keep everything apart, because there is no way I wish to have the odd mesage (I don't use my personal FB very often) from my personal page (along with my friend's details) to spring up on my business page.:(
Can anyone help me sort this out?
Cheers.

  • You need to explain what the issue is clearly. We have many pages and they are managed via the personal account. Have you tried asking Facebook the questions, the are often very helpful if you ask.

First off, I have been on the FB help page and they have not helped me.
Second, I think that I have described the problem adequately.

I have a personal FB page, and I have just (in the last month) created a business FB page.
However, when I send someone a message from my business page, the recipient receives the message from my personal page. When someone sends a message to my business page, it actually goes to my personal page.
There is obviously something very wrong but nobody seems to know how to fix it.

You're best using your fb business page from the web and not a mobile app.

In the web version, go on to your business page. There is a blue bar along the top. On the very right there is a downwards facing arrow. Click on this and you will have a drop down menu appear. The first thibg on there is 'Use facebook as (business name). Click on this. This now means that when you send messages, they come from the business and not you. Click on the same diwnward arrow to revert back to sending messages from your personal account.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

    Thanks Phill99, I will try that.
I always use FB on my PC or laptop, so there shouldn't be any issues.

If you go to "Page Settings" under your FB page, there's an also option for "Post Attribution" where you can select "Post as [you]" or "Post as [your page]". This means you don't need "Use Facebook as [your page]" every time, though that feature still has its uses.

It's very helpful for avoiding mistakes when posting/interacting with your page. Even if I'm on my personal facebook homepage, I can quickly reply to a page comment and it will always show up as my page rather than me.
This is everybody's fault but mine.

Just a quick update on this.
Everything has been going well with the FB business page - until this morning.
Every time that I shut the computer down, the FB page reverts to my personal page, which is OK because I simply swap them over at the beginning of a session.
This morning I went into the business page, clicked on the arrow att the right on the blue toolbar and selected my business page for the day - nothing happened!
Whatever I do the business page is constatly pointing to my personal page, so if I go into another FB page, they are seeing my personal page instead of my business page - aaaargh!
