Medical conditions travel insurance.

Has anyone heard of insurancewith, an inexpensive travel insurance company for people with pre-existing medical conditions? As a family with members who have pre-existing conditions we find insurance to be very expensive and I've seen this company mentioned on Facebook. Does anyone have experience of them? Have you used their products? Do you have any experience of any other reasonably priced companies?

Travel insurance is different to other classes of mainstream personal lines insurance in that it is dominated by relatively small intermediaries, many who have several trading names and often have binding authority. Similarly there are many more administrators involved and overseas insurer - in this case the policy is ultimately underwritten by a German insurer

Never heard of this trading name, do know of the parent company behind it and the actual insurer for the main part of the policy, URV, are a fairly sizeable player in the market even if they arent a household name in the UK

I have seen Eurotunnel recommended (on a USA holiday forum for Brits) as covering worldwide as well (though the sites focus seems purely on Europe - but people have/are using them for worldwide so you probably have to 'phone).

Recommended by people with pre existing medical conditions, reasonable price, fit to fly letters were required I believe.

No experience of this myself, just been watching it on the travel site (TheDibb) because hubby has raised cholesterol, is 67 & Insure&Go are charging us £200 this time round.

Have you looked outside the box? We are considering switching to a Nationwide FlexPlus current a/c, we're with them for another a/c already, (but nothing to stop you just applying to open one from scratch). The charge is £10 per month but has free worldwide travel cover, breakdown cover, mobiles & a few other things.

Been told by them that cholesterol will be covered no extra charge. So end result would be 1 year worldwide insurance costing only £120. Apparently don't even have any other criteria to run the a/c, no monthly 'pay-in', no direct debits etc. Must just have enough in there to cover the £10 monthly charge.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
