Is this a good price for car insurance?

Trying to get outgoings as low as possible (aren't we all?!)

Are there any insurance experts on here that can tell me if this is a good price:

Been looking at multi car policies for mine and my partners car insurance

I'm 32, been driving since I was 18, maximum no claims discount.

My partner is 25 (26 in July), only passed his test last year so 1 years no claim discount

Been quoted £1,100 for both cars (£396 for me, £704 for his)

Is this good? Or could I get it cheaper?

We are supposed to guess where you live? What cars you have? How many claims or convictions you each have?

The only way to say if its a good price is to stick your details into the aggregators like Confused.com and then test both those companies that dont use the aggregators at all (eg Aviva or Direct Line) and the multi-car policies which arent on them.

As a simple illustration, moving from outer London to leafy Surrey almost halved my premiums with no other material changes.

My car is a Nissan Note (2006) 1.6
Other car is a Toyota Yaris (2001) 1.3

Insurance depends upon so many variants you're better just spending half an hour on the Internet.
I was listening to Shiela Hancock (the actor), on the radio complaning that her insurance had just gone up, i think she said £1k to £3k.

I agree with others, just compare a few meerkats and look at direct line etc. 700 quid for a Yaris does sound quite steep to me ( that's over 3 times what I'm paying for a 1.6 Pug diesel ), but there are so many variables it's impossible to second-guess the insurance companies.

There is a very good guide to getting quotes, and in which order on a cracking little site, it's moneysavingexpert.com. Don't be fooled by multi-car user, "deals", it's just a marketing exercise, go through individual quotes for both and see how they come out.
