Hi everyone!

How is everybody?
Thought I'd start a separate thread in this section dedicated to my little garden :j
When I was little (I'm talking 10ish - I'm 26 now), my granddad and I used to spend many a weekend in his back garden planting all sorts of flowers, fruit and vegetables.
My family is Italian and granddad used to make his own wine and my sister and I used to squish the grapes with our feet :D

I'm assuming as a result of this, I now adore gardening.
My friends don't get it and find it hilarious... and a little sad! But I LOVE it.

I moved into a rented maisonette in January after a long term relationship break-up and now my little kitten and I have a veg patch which is steadily growing lettuce, carrots, peas, tomatoes and courgettes. I also have a couple of 'grow-your-own' indoor pots which are growing red peppers, basil, parsley and chives.

The lettuce is non-stop, I actually no longer buy salad in my food shop as I have SO much!
I love the money saving and it makes me feel genuinely happy to be pottering about in the garden :T

I'm buying a cage at the weekend as Loki (my kitten) has somehow managed to get into my home made enclosure and has tried to dig up the soil - Found one in Wilko I just need to assemble for £19.99.
I can't wait to move out (as in January I am aiming to be a FTB!) as I'm desperate for chickens... but that's another story! :rotfl:

Looking forward to hearing everyone's stories, tips and ideas!

I think you are doing great, take no notice of your friends. You are the one reaping the benefits of growing your own plus you are out in the fresh air, getting exercise and saving money.
Keep it up and I hope it all goes well for you, is FTB first time buyer?
Treat other's how you like to be treated.

I've got chickens and they're fab!

I totally get what you mean about other people not getting it. They're quiet happy with my produce though  :rotfl:

    Hi!

Yes, FTB = First time buyer.

I think I've killed my courgettes though?! They're now in individual pots, but the leaves are going yellow and crispy... I water them everyday... Any ideas?

    Thanks :)
