Insuring myself on my sons car.
Hi all. I have recently purchased a car for my son who is nearing his driving test. I thought that i would be able to drive this car on my own insurance for my own car. This is not the case as my company doesnt allow me to drive other cars. Although my son has his own learner insurance can I take out a seperate policy to drive his car if the need should arise? Many thanks in advance for any help.

Can't he put you as a named driver on his insurance?0

I'd have thought the cheaper option would be to get yourself added as a named driver on your son's insurance.0

Hi, his policy is with a specialist learner driver comany called Collingwood. I'll check with them to see if its possible. Thank you.0

Is that the one where only a learner can be covered? I seem to remember getting a quote from a company that would not add drivers with a full licence.
You can take out another policy but you wont be able to use your current no claims so maybe costly.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If you are teaching your son I would of thought you have to be insured to drive the car.0
