Hi all,
I passed my full driving test in 1990 and want to drive a moped to work less than 125cc.
Do I need to take a CBT as there seems to be conflicting info.
Cheers,
Chris

You can ride a Moped (50cc) on your car licence, anything else I think needs a CBT.

No, you need an IQ test.0

Is it not better to ask than to risk a fine ?.
Anyway, if you fancy something a bit more powerful you can ride a 400cc Piaggio MP3 on a car licence without any further tests as it has 2 front wheels and is thus classed as a trike.Never Knowingly Understood.

If you've not done any moped or motorbike riding previously it may still be worth going for a CBT as it's a useful introduction even if you've plenty of experience in other vehicles.

Took my grandson to do his CBT in May. There was a 16 year old girl who had never been near a bike before let alone had any sense of what the roads are like. She was a danger to herself and other road users.
She passed.0 -
You can ride below 50cc and don't even need L plates if you passed in 1990. Over 50cc needs a cbt then L plates.
To be fair a CBT is only £100 or so, and a 125 is far better to ride. Full licence £450 ish.0 -

Think this only applies to the newer LT variants which have a wider wheel track compared to the older models.0
