If you bought it from the sellers house how can you not find him? Who lives there now?

Are you expecting a £1000 - £1500 car to be perfect?

He still lives there but now evasive

The air bag light is always on. The garage advised to take the car back or have it scraped because the scan found a possible fault with the ECU as well as cam/crankshaft faults.

    Change your garage.
  • Bought a car in similar situation and my heart skipped a beat. I thought you were going to mention some kind of scam related to the yellow slip of the v5.

HPI check was done on my car, v5 serial number, vin and reg.
1 owner was recorded which was nice.
A mechanic checked all over the car for £60, diagnostic check and physical point checks. I'm glad I purchased local within an area congested with garages, if I had gone further out I would have had to pay three figures for a mobile inspection from either the aa or rac.

How is that worth it, doesn't make your CAR FIXED!

    No quite correct.
But I didn't say this would fix the car did I?

It did appear however the trader might have fallen foul of some HMRC/TS rules and if they aren't willing to play fairly on the buyers issue it's fair game IMHO to 'shop them' elsewhere.

FWIW trading rules are bit 'loose' I think? i.e. you need to be buying and selling for profit -not merely buying the odd car for personal use and flogging it on occasionally.
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
