Brakes & Guarantee
i got in my car yesterday and drove up the road and stopped at the junction and a warning light come on saying about brake fluid , i drove to where i was going and then on my way back home no warnings , i checked the brake fluid and all seemed ok
got in the car this morning and drove off and within 200yrds the light come on again , checked the manual and it says check the brakes at your nearest dealership ( i have a 2007 ford fiesta )
i actually had new brakes / pads / discs back in 2013 cost a fair few quid
before i go to the the garage and ask the question , would these be replaced under warranty as garage says 12000mile / 2 years and i have done about 8000miles since they were done , its actually 2yrs and 1 week since they were done though

Low mileage is the worst thing possible for brakes. Check pad wear levels yourself.0

its also depends on you driving style you could have done say 8,000 miles but were they like city driving braking all the time which will cause quicker pad wear or you may have a caliper problem if they are binding that will excessivly wear them quicker0

my daily commute is stop start stop start , i stop at at least a dozen junctions on way to work alone
thanks for replies guys"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0 -
Pads and discs are a wear and tear item. I doubt they'll be under a warranty.0

"Modern" cars are "designed" to just have enough brake fluid so that as the brake pads wear out, the low fluid lamp comes on. Saves fitting those "Olden Days" devices such as pad wear sensors and squeakers in the pads.
Most likely the pads are worn out.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
