Hello!
I'm moving to South Africa for 6 months and I'm not sure it's worth me getting a bank account. Which cards should I use? I previously used a British Airways American Express card for cashback in the UK but I think that has now changed. I also have a Santander Zero card but it seems to be no longer as good for travel. I have a Nationwide flex account but rarely use it. I bank with Lloyds and also have a Santander 123 account.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the info - where should I keep my cash and withdraw money from?!?
Thanks in advance. :-)

Halifax clarity is the best card for spending abroad. Check out the foreign spending section on the main site. For 6 months that should work fine, particularly if you have internet banking on your current account as you can just move money across to pay the card as you take it out.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000
LBM 28/1/15 total debt - [STRIKE]£23,410[/STRIKE] 24/3/16 total debt - £7,298

I am off to Thailand for 5 months. So the Halifax Clarity card is the only card I need for ATMs and purchases/restaurants/golf club fees? I have Nationwide FlexPlus Account and previously have taken both cards. Used the Debit card for ATMs and Credit for purchases.0
