Pricipality RS T&C's

I opened up the Principality RS in May last year and put in to me a substantial amount of money, over the year as I needed a branch based account that was the best at the time.
In May 2007 the money never appeared in the account (I didn't check the account nor top it up that month either), and as I thought it was a 12 month RS I cancelled the June payment, so in other words nothing went into the account in May / June 2007.
Due to this it was recommended that I closed that account and set up another one to drip feed the account again - as I had broken the T&C's! I started the new on in July 2007.
I opened another account and in the minimum by DD and topping this up by cheque. The last time I went there to update the book they put in money which had been put into my new account during May... before the account was opened and the time which they claim I hadn't put in money to the old account.
I've since been told verbally (I've asked for this in writing), there's nothing I can do as I broke the conditions and they must've had the May DD floating in their systems for 2 months - without sending it back to my account I hastily add. They claim that they're intending to give me £30 as a goodwill gesture - I've lost about £500 in interest alone if I kept the money in the account from the first year and just paid in min payments for the next 12 months.
Has anyone else had this problem with Principality?
TIA
