How does my dad get UK banking to receive his pension when he lives in Spain?

When I lived in Spain, Nationwide allowed me to open an account as I had a UK address on my driving licence. This was a few years ago.
ETA : The address was of a house that belonged to me.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
I find it quite fascinating how all these people emigrate from the UK to live in Europe....but seemingly all want to retain UK based bank accounts and UK driving licences with UK addresses on them..and the rest.0

We always intended to come back to the UK, which we now have, and also had a house there with the associated expenses, so needed a UK Bank Account.
There is no requirement to change to a Spanish licence if you already have a valid photocard one. If of course it expires then you have to change it.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

As of right now, the UK is part of Europe and the European Union. One of the fundamental points of the European Union is that you don't need to, for example, change all your banking arrangements just because you move a couple of hundred miles down the road, whether that is a permanent or a temporary move.
Nobody would ever dream of asking people to change their bank or their driving licence if they move from Aberdeen to Lands End. So why should they change it when they move from Hampshire to Britanny, which is geographically a lot closer. Of course it's difficult to understand for those people who want out of the EU.0 -

@Colsten - Too right I want out of the EU!
25 years of working for UK exporting manufacturing businesses and getting virtually no business in the EU as there was always some "difficulty" or "incompatibility" with our products and services.
Never price issues - oh no never so simple.
While strange to report the USA, Japan, China, South America and pretty well the rest of the world found no such difficulties. some bids we won, some we lost: all fair play.
All pretty obvious the EU countries were protecting their own manufacturers. Even if you solved the difficulty with your product - they would simply invent a new reason.
The whole EU is a scam designed to extract money from the UK.
I refuse under any circumstances to even visit it on holiday - I've had enough of the abuse on business visits there.
Being given a "tour" of the bits we bombed in WWII by my hosts while on a visit to a German city must have been one of my all time highlights. Jeez was I glad to fly home each time.0 -
An 'offshore' account in Jersey or IoM registered to a non UK address can be used to administer UK mainland expenses with a debit card, direct debits, standing orders etc, if that's his purpose. But a few thousand pounds' balance would be required to avoid monthly fees.Evolution, not revolution0

You must have been in a very unusual business...
The businesses in Aberdeen relied heavily on the EU market: I remember one MD commenting "Europe works well for me", and when he said that he planned to vote 'no' to Scottish independence and I pointed out that the drive to leave the EU was much stronger in England than in Scotland, he responded that he would reconsider his vote.
While it is true that most EU countries take regulations around health and safety and accurate food labelling more seriously than does the UK, most legitimate businesses are able to work within the rules and prosper on business there.0 -

My father lives in Spain for the last 10 years + .
I live in UK , own my house , have a decent credit rating etc.
He doesn't have a UK bank account as he gave up his RBS bank accounts when he moved to Spain (in hindsight he should of kept them on even if not using them).
He wants to have his State pension paid into a UK bank account.
Why?
UK pensions are paid to virtually every country in the world (the only exception is North Korea). So would it not work receiving his money in a Spanish bank account?
My experience: when I wanted to add a foreign wife to my bank account (to make it a joint account) I needed to show proof of UK address. And of course his income might be considered to be your income for tax purposes... If you wanted to resolve the problem by using questionable means, you could probably put the water bill at your house into his name and then use that as 'proof' of address.0
