Hello Gang,
Lovely to see the thread up and running, I have been running around like a blue bottomed fairy for a couple of months, but have to get back into the swing of posting here daily.
Hugs to those that need them, and hello to all new members – this is a lovely thread to be part of !
A couple of bits of money saving from me, which should help to pay my debts of quicker (car loan and a credit card debt transferred from MBNA to Natwest for my mother – the best way to get shot of the stupid 26.9% APR they were charging)
This weekend I have/will:
• Meals from stores
• Have spent some money on the national lottery (once in a while)
• Received all my towels for the holiday – we are taking carry on only on a week’s holiday so I have to think smart and have bought microfibre towels and some towels that roll up to nothing
• Washed the towels on a quick 40 degree wash and hung them out to dry
• Got accepted for a replacement car loan, which works out 4% cheaper than my current loan. Any excess will go to clear my part of the credit card.
• Watching things on the sky box rather than going out
• Sat working on college work, will email it to myself at work and print it out there
• Charging my phone and kobo while the computer is on
• I have downloaded a couple of books to read while I am away
• Need to make lunch for tomorrow
• Checked onepoll – there were a couple of surveys on Friday, and I am already up to £10.65, which isn’t bad considering I only had a payout a couple of months ago !
Think that is about it from me, take care everyone and I’ll be back tomorrow

Well done Bob. You will get there in the end!
What a lovely lovely weekend. Have spent today cleaning the kitchen interspersed with light strolls outside enjoying the weather. Hung out a load of DS washing. Watched gorgeous ducks and geese chatting and sun bathing.
Andyfromotley, your post resonates with me. I fight the fight regularly into not spending. It is soo much easier to not spend than to try to clear debt after. Still for me a struggle though!
Such a lovely day.
Heres hoping we have a good week.

Afternoon Everyone
Well despite yesterdays frustrations it turned into a lovely day, the theatre was brilliant, great show, great company - I am really blessed with my relationship with my step-daughter (and step-son) she springs these trips on me every so often. I also love to see the fantastic relationship between them and their younger brother - to anyone with step-children my advice would be to take each day as a new day and don't hold grudges, be true to yourself - all relationships take time - and there ends the sermon for today:rotfl:

Today i managed not to buy a reclining chair for the garden despite being in the shops and finding a cheap one. I havent budgeted for it and i dont fancy moving stuff around in my catagories to buy it. (it was only £30!!) I will wait and if i still want one i will buy it at the end of the month when i have budgeted for it. This is a massive change of mindset for me, 6 months ago i would have bought one (and quite possibly 2) for about £100 each and just stuck it on the CC!!
Welcome!! and well done on a great startGoodreads 2025 Challenge :16/75
