Step Account Transfer

Hi,
Am i able to make an instant transfer online from my Natwest Step Account, to my Natwest E-Savings account?
I can see them both on there, but when i come to transfer, it tries to use Mondays date.
I thought transfers between two accounts with the same bank are instant?

  • Any time I have transferred money from my Natwest accoung over a weekend, the transaction shows the Monday's date, but the money leaves my account instantly. I'm guessing it will appear in your other account instantly, but both will show Monday's date as weekends are non-banking days.

The above answer is correct as to when this has happened to me before and I have asked nat West to explain.
    Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j

Sorry to bump in - has Natwest just changed their policy on Step accounts? I recall a while ago, Step account holders could not do anything online (could only check their balance basically). Just wondering, as I have cancelled the Step account a year ago!

    Thanks for your replies.
I tested it with a transfer of £5 and it appeared in my savings account instantly.

I can do pretty much everything with my online banking - set-up standing orders/transfers etc etc, cant think of anything else i would need to do that i cant!

i do loads of transfers online with my step account. it will show mondays date a he weekend isnt classed as "working days" the money will be shown as transfered on mondays date but will actually be there as soon as transfer is done
  • Slightly off topic, but does the Step account offer full bill payment facilities - website says you can pay bills by standing order or d/d ie not one-off payments? Thanks.

You can make one off payments with the step account on line at least I do. You can also transfer money to other accounts with other banks.

Thanks; I've also discovered you can do transfers to egg accounts with the solo card (after registering the debit card with egg).

I pay all my d/d's with my natwest step account and have always been able too since I opened the account in Jan 07. HTH Kathy :)

  • NatWest changed the way step accounts worked a few years ago as it used to be impossible to do anything online, and made sure people could do transfers online. Amazing what things can be done from feedback within and outside an organisation like a bank.
THe Monday thing, is because the following working day after Friday is Monday so all transactions over the weekend would show on the Monday.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
